Jennifer Scott, originally from Pennsylvania, began studying piano at the age of 4. She earned B.A. in Music and French from Franklin & Marshall College, where she studied with pianist, Elizabeth Keller - an alumna of the Curtis Institute of Music. After practicing environmental and real estate law for 5 years, Jennifer returned to music and established Studio Papillon.
Jennifer has become one of the most sought-after piano teachers in the DC area, due to her dynamic teaching style and love of children. She continues to grow musically through her studies with acclaimed concert pianists, Jeffrey Chappell and Brian Ganz, who bestow the teachings of Leon Fleisher and Rudolf Serkin. With an affinity toward impressionist and symbolist music, Jennifer specializes in French piano music. She is actively working on recording two compact discs - one interpreting Mozart sonatas and another sharing selections from Debussy, Ravel and Saint-Saens.
To Jennifer, music is a life activity, which flourishes with the musician. She loves teaching children as young as 4-years of age and watching them develop personally and musically. For her, teaching is one of life's rewards.
